early spring....

We've had some gloriously warm days and the green is returning. The forest is slowly waking up and full sap trucks are running up and down the road. I love watching the tips of the branches shift from brown to various shades of yellow-greens and reds before the first leaves emerge. I got the hoop house all tidied up and planted some radish seeds. What a joy to play in the dirt in that balmy hoop house when the garden is still frozen!

I haven't found any wildflowers just yet, but the ramps I transplanted are popping up by the creek and the crocus and snowdrops are blooming. I almost weeded the chickweed taking over in the garden, but the first honeybees are foraging for pollen so I left it to bloom. Daffodils will be here soon and I won't feel guilty weeding after that. I'm excited to see the field full of flowers again and have fresh bouquets inside.....
