Hey there, I’m Stephinie.

Gardener, herbalist, fiber artist, introvert. Once upon a time my job was military spouse and homeschool mama to four. Now I’m a middle-aged empty nester adjusting to a very quiet house. Life is weird like that.

Named after the ship my love was stationed on in Cordova, Alaska when we met a handful of decades ago, Sweetbrier Farmstead is a homestead and nature retreat tucked in the woods of upstate NY. We spend our days tending to the land and caring for a collection of cats and dogs, and a few dozen chickens.

I ramble on about gardening, creativity, nature and the second half of life on the farm journal.  You can find an ever-changing collection of our handmade goods in our little online shop. The events page has information about classes and markets and (coming spring of 2026) our tiny off grid cabin rental.
