some favorites...
I'm a bit of a nerd about resilient plants and I mostly make notes on what plants do well with the least amount of input from me. I'd rather grow ten easy plants than one fussy any day.... here are a few favorites I've added to my list....
Carmen Italian Frying Pepper - this pepper variety seems more productive and more hardy against diseases. I love having frozen peppers in the freezer for soup + stir fries.
The wedding pumpkins! Jade's wedding was decorated with several types of mostly ornamental pumpkins that were composted once the frost made them soggy. SO MANY of them sprouted plants this spring and we had a wagon full of fall decor. I plan to put some edible varieties there next year to see how they do as I always struggle trying to keep squash under control in my fenced in garden area. They like to take over!
Peter Wilcox potato! I've trialed several varieties since moving to the farm and this one is my number one! Mostly medium sized and a texture that holds up well in all sorts of dishes. Excellent storage potato too!
