in my garden - 7.28.23
The sunflowers are really starting to show off. A few are double my height easily, I'll try to get a picture of the really tall ones as they start to bloom. I love the branching varieties because you get so many more flowers from them.Cleome continues to self seed in the garden each year, all from one plant I bought two years ago. I love the self seeders! I let them do their thing and then transplant them to places I want them to be or compost the extras so they don't take over at the edges of the beds. I've got two new arbors in the garden this year, one for sweet peas and one for scarlet runner beans. I got the sweet peas in too late and don't anticipate them doing much, hopefully a few of the perennial variety will take. The scarlet runner beans however are AMAZING! Every day they have hummingbird + butterfly visitors. "Zeolight" Calendula, my tiny boss Fred the cat napping in the dye garden and sulfur cosmos! Look at that gorgeous vibrant orange!
