baby sugar bear quilt

I dusted off my sewing machine last fall and started playing around with some fabric again. Sophie had reminded me that her big sister had gotten a mama-made quilt and that she was hoping she might have one too, ahem. So I showed her a few quilt patterns that looked fun to me and she picked out the Sugar Bear quilt by Southern Charm Quilts. I've never made something with a whole lotta points that line up, so I figured I would make a practice quilt to get the hang of it...I finally got the binding done this month and gifted the quilt to our friend's new baby girl. The original Sugar Bear quilt pattern is a bit of a sampler. It has nine blocks and the center squares are different patchwork patterns in each one. This baby version has just four blocks and I wanted it to come together quickly, so I stuck with solid squares for the center and used lots of scraps to give it a scrappy look. I feel more confident about sewing + trimming 144 of those half-rectangle-triangle points for Sophie's quilt.xo,s
