june blooms and empty nests....

The foxglove are in full swing. Last fall my friend Liz gave me a bucket full of foxglove babies and I tucked them in just before our first frost. This cultivated variety is lush and gorgeous and huge and it reminds me of living in Sitka, Alaska where it grows wild all over the place. I'm hoping it self seeds and pops up in new places.

And the peonies!! Oh the peonies. I'll admit, they make me weepy. Peri-menopause? Emptying nest? I don't know.... but I get a little teary eyed making these giant bouquets and missing my baby girl who is getting settled in her new home about 5,000 miles away.

All the feelings as we head into this next phase of life.....
